Leo Rojas was signed by the Kansas City T-Bones on March 23, 2017. Rojas was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 2012 MLB draft from Miami-Dade College, Kendall Campus in Miami, Florida. The catcher spent time with three different organizations prior to being picked up by Kansas City. Rojas’ rookie season with the AZL Giants in the Arizona League posted a .250 batting average, while contributing nine RBIs and 11 hits. The 2013 season would be the first of three stops with the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes in the Northwest League. Rojas batted .306 with seven doubles and one home run on the season. The South Atlantic League was the next stop for Rojas as he joined the Augusta GreenJackets for just over a month in the 2014 season, where he had 19 hits and posted a .264 batting average. Rojas returned to the Salem-Keizer organization for the remainder of the 2014 season. To end the year, Rojas had seven hits with a .206 batting average, while contributing two doubles and three RBIs before taking a break during the 2015 season. Upon his return to the diamond, Rojas made his third trip to Salem, Oregon to rejoin the Volcanoes organization for the 2016 season. Rojas made two top ten ranks on the Salem-Keizer roster coming in at eighth with three home runs and tenth with 20 RBIs, while batting .213 on the season. After spending much of his career in the Northwest League, Rojas moved on to the American Association when he was signed by the T-Bones in 2017. Rojas has contributed 24 hits with five home runs and 15 RBIs thus far on the season. A batting average of .267 puts Rojas sixth on the team throughout the 41 games played thus far in the season. The Punto Fijo, Venezuela native played for Miami-Dade College with T-Bones outfielder, Omar Garcia, upon coming to the United States.
