06/14/2008 11:00 AM -

FARGO, N.D. – Garry Bakker threw seven and two-thirds scoreless innings for the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks tonight as the Kansas City T-Bones fell 7-0 in the third game of a five-game set at Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo, N.D.

Bakker allowed five baserunners over his outing, surrendering just three hits before leaving after taking a shot off his arm from Aharon Eggleston with two outs in the eighth.  The right-hander struck out eight T-Bones and allowed just two runners to reach second as he improved to 1-2 on the season.

Fargo got all the runs they would need off Zac Stott in the second inning on a two-run single from Zach Penprase.  Steve Mortimer drove in two more with a home run in the third to give the RedHawks a 4-0 lead after three.

A triple by Joe Mathis drove in Fargo’s fifth run of the contest in the fourth and two more runs on an RBI groundout from Dan Maycock and a run-scoring single from Mathis in the sixth capped off the RedHawks scoring.  Stott suffered the loss in his T-Bones debut, allowing seven runs on seven hits in five and two-thirds innings.  Six of the seven runs Stott allowed came with two outs.

Tag Horner allowed two hits in a scoreless inning of relief for Kansas City.  Chris Rhoads retired all four batters he faced to finish the game for the T-Bones.

The two teams face off again tomorrow in game four of their five-game set as Anthony Snow takes the mound for Kansas City against Brett Lawson for the RedHawks.  First pitch is scheduled for 6:00.
