09/12/2006 11:41 AM - CHICAGO, Ill. - Greg Jacobs received yet another post-season honor Monday when the Northern League named the 29-year-old outfielder its Most Outstanding Defensive Player.
The Scottsdale, AZ, resident led the Northern League with 15 outfield assists and compiled a .995 fielding percentage as an outfielder (1 error in 188 total chances). Jacobs also committed just one error in 103 chances in ten games at first base (.990 fielding percentage).
Last week, Jacobs was selected to the league's post-season all-star squad after finishing in the top five in seven offensive categories, including batting average
(.333-2nd), on-base percentage (.444-2nd), and slugging percentage (.571-3rd). Jacobs was also named the Rawling's NL Player of the Month for June, when he hit .394 and socked five home runs while driving in 25 runs.
