Kansas City Selects Rookie Hurler in Dispersal Draft

11/02/2011 8:31 AM -

The Kansas City T-Bones have announced the selection of right-handed pitcher Greg Denton in the Fort Worth dispersal draft.

Denton, 24, made six relief appearances for the Fort Worth Cats in 2011, posting a 1.59 ERA while holding opponents to just 15 hits in 17 innings in that span. He began his professional career in 2009 with the Coastal Kingfish of the Continental League before moving to the Pecos League in 2010. Denton was signed by Fort Worth on Aug. 16, 2011.

The membership of Fort Worth Baseball Club, LLC was revoked after the club was unable to provide the Letter of Credit for the 2012 season, as required by league by-laws. A dispersal draft was held for the Fort Worth players; however, if new ownership is found, the drafted players will be returned to the organization.

Season tickets for the 10th anniversary season of T-Bones baseball are on sale now by calling 913-328-5640. Stay tuned to www.tbonesbaseball.com and the T-Bones’ Facebook page for up-to-date news and information, as well as special ticket and merchandise specials, throughout the year.
