The Kansas City T-Bones have announced the hiring of Ben Larson as the team’s new radio broadcaster.
Larson joins the T-Bones after spending the past two seasons calling games for the Madison Mallards of the Northwoods League, a Summer Collegiate Baseball Association sanctioned summer baseball league. During the offseason, Larson also spends time covering football for the University of Wisconsin.
“I’m excited to experience a summer with the T-Bones and the Northern League,” said Larson. “I’ve heard nothing but good things about Kansas City and its passionate fans.”
Born and raised in Wisconsin, Larson graduated cum laude from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh in 2001 with a B.S. in Radio/Television/Film and a minor in Journalism. He finished third in the voting for the 2007 Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Play-by-Play Award behind the Green Bay Packers’ Wayne Laravee and the Milwaukee Brewers’ Bob Uecker.
“We are excited to add Ben to our staff,” added T-Bones general manager Chris Browne. “He is a tremendous talent and we look forward to introducing him to our loyal fans as Voice of the T-Bones.”
