KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Northern League All-Star teams have been announced and the T-Bones will send three players to this year’s game in Fargo, North Dakota. Center fielder Aharon Eggleston will be the lone starter for Kansas City, while first baseman Mario Delgado and pitcher Kenny Durost will serve as reserves for the South Division All-Stars.
Eggleston, who is currently second in the league with 19 stolen bases, will start in the outfield on July 10 at Newman-Outdoor Field. Eggleston is hitting .314 through 41 games while scoring 34 runs and driving in 28. For Eggleston, this will be his first Northern League All-Star start.
Delgado has been selected as a reserve first baseman after hitting .364 with five home runs and 34 RBI through his first 41 games. In 2004, Delgado was the Northern League’s Player of the Year and was chosen as the starting first baseman for the East Division in the All-Star Game.
Durost will be in the bullpen for the South Division. The right-hander is 4-0 on the season with a 4.11 ERA through eight starts, one of which was a complete game. Through 50 and one-third innings, he has held opponents to a .272 average.
Newman-Outdoor Field in Fargo, North Dakota is home to the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks of the Northern League’s North Division. The South Division team will be managed by Greg Tagert of the Gary SouthShore RailCats and Fargo's own Doug Simunic will manage the North Division. Tagert and Simunic also managed last year’s game in Kansas City.
The rosters were selected by voting from the League’s managers, radio broadcasters and media.
