Kansas City saw an early 1-0 lead against Winnipeg evaporate in the second inning before the rains came and forced a cancellation of Saturday night's exhibition game at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.
The T-Bones jumped on Goldeyes starter Matt Jackson quickly in the bottom of the first, as lead-off batter Robby Kuzdale roped a triple to the wall in right-center. Kuzdale then scored when the next batter, C.J. Henry, grounded out to third. Shortly after Winnipeg scored two runs in the top of the second off Kansas City starter Kyle Brady, the downpour began before the T-Bones batted in the bottom of the second. The game will not be made up.
Kansas City and Winnipeg are scheduled to conclude their three-game series Sunday afternoon at 1:05 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark, before the T-Bones end their exhibition schedule with games at Wichita and Joplin on Monday and Tuesday, respectively. The T-Bones will begin the regular season at home on Friday, May 22, against Lincoln at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are available by calling the Providence Medical Center Box Office at CommunityAmerica Ballpark at 913-328-5618.
