Where Are They Now?: Skip Adams

The second player in our series of “where are they now” articles is former infielder Skip Adams.

Adams played in 26 games for Kansas City during the 2003 season, posting a .247/.341/.351 line in that span.  Following the season, Adams’ contract was purchased by the San Diego Padres on February 26, 2004.  He then spent four seasons in the Padres organization, climbing as high as Double-A San Antonio before his release during the 2007 campaign.

After his release, Adams signed with the St. Paul Saints of the independent American Association to close out 2007 before playing the entire 2008 with the Lincoln Saltdogs, also of the AA.  Adams enjoyed arguably his best season with Lincoln, posting a .327/.417/.473 line in 38 games.

Adams spent the 2009 campaign with the Tucson Toros of the independent Golden League, hitting .305 while tying a career high with 10 home runs in 73 games.  He also made his professional pitching debut with Tucson, striking out one and walking one in a scoreless two-thirds of an inning.

Stay tuned for the next installment when we check in on pitcher Derek Forbes, purchased by the Baltimore Orioles on June 25, 2005.
