KANSAS CITY, Kan. – For the fourth consecutive week the T-Bones have a player receive a weekly league honor.  The Northern League today announced that Rick DeHart has been named the Northern League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending August 12.

DeHart, 37, took a no-hitter into the ninth inning of Sunday's game with the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks while facing the minimum through eight innings.   The left-hander allowed his only hit leading off the ninth inning on a 1-2 count to RedHawks' catcher Adam Shorsher.  DeHart was removed from the game following the hit and ended his day going eight innings, allowing only one hit and one run while walking one and striking out seven.

The four-year Major League veteran finished the week going 1-1 in two starts, allowing just four errned runs in 14 innings while striking out 10.

DeHart was originally signed by the Montreal Expos as a non-drafted free agent in 1992 before making his Major League Debut in 1997 with the Expos where he would spend parts of the next two seasons.  DeHart made it back to the big leagues with the Kansas City Royals in 2003.

DeHart had pitched the prior two seasons for T-Bones manager Andy McCauley in Schaumburg posting a 4.70 ERA over 38 starts.  Prior to joining the T-Bones, DeHart was pitching in the American Association for the St. Joseph Blacksnakes.

DeHart is the second pitcher to be honored this season.  The other was Matt Schweitzer last week.   Other players to receive weekly honors include Calvin Pickering and Rob Watson.
